The Pro-Life Office of the Diocese of Grand Island
The Pro-Life Office is dedicated to educating, advocating, and fostering life for every human being from conception to natural death. Our mission is to build a culture of life in our families, parishes, and schools through prayer, education, pastoral care, and advocacy in the public square.

One example of how the Pro-Life Office has impacted change in our culture is by looking at Hayden Price's life. Hayden is a 2021 graduate from Grand Island Central Catholic and a recent graduate from Hillsdale College. Hayden was instrumental in starting "Crusaders for Life" during high school and was a runner-up in the statewide Pro-Life Youth Essay Contest in 2020. The following are statements from Hayden.
"I would say that when my mother first explained what abortion was to me, I became engaged in the pro-life movement. Immediately, I understood that something was inherently wrong with ending the gift of life. My time at GICC allowed me to strengthen my views, and Mike’s help in forming a pro-life group was instrumental in further engaging me. The Grand Island Diocese pro-life office has pushed me to stay engaged and think creatively as we work to cement a culture of life in our area. Whether through pro-life literature or events, the pro-life office has provided ample opportunities to further educate and inspire me. I particularly enjoy the ever‑growing pro‑life coffee event, where advocates can engage with their elected leaders and learn how they are addressing critical issues.
One speaker who stood out to me while at GICC was Mike Foley. I appreciated how he, as a politician, was so unapologetic in his defense of life. Pro-life advocacy requires bravery, grace, and humility, which he demonstrated through his willingness to speak to a group of high schoolers. His taking the time to speak with us also reaffirmed how important this movement is. Extremely busy people are willing to take the time to advocate for life because when society begins to degrade the value of humanity, other injustices are bound to follow."
Hayden continues to be a pro-life advocate and is studying law at Creighton University. He recently joined the Catholic Church and both he and his wife attended the 2026 PL Coffee in Grand Island. It's uplifting to see how much just one person can help build a culture of life in our society. By his example, Hayden will likely impact other young adults and future generations to be strong advocates for life.
