Every day at Mercyhurst Preparatory School, we witness the determination, talent, and resilience of our students. We also see the challenges some of them quietly carry.

For some students, it may be a lack of reliable transportation to school. For others, it may mean needing a new pair of shoes, a uniform, or help putting food on the table. These are real challenges faced by members of our MPS family.

That is why the MPS Angel Fund exists.

The Angel Fund provides immediate, compassionate support for students and families facing unexpected financial hardships. Through this fund, we can respond to needs that often fall outside traditional tuition assistance, including food insecurity, transportation challenges, school uniforms, shoes, and other essential expenses.

Last year alone, more than 90 students utilized our campus food pantry. The impact of the Angel Fund extends far beyond financial assistance, it provides dignity, stability, and opportunity. Most importantly, it allows students to focus on their education, personal growth, and involvement in the academic, artistic, and athletic experiences that make an MPS education transformative.

As we celebrate 100 years of Mercyhurst Preparatory School, we have set a special Centennial Erie Gives goal of 100 donors supporting the Angel Fund. Every gift, regardless of size, helps remove barriers for students and strengthens our mission of mercy. We invite you to help us reach 100 donors for 100 years of MPS.

How to Give

Before August 11

• Mail a check payable to The Erie Community Foundation with the Erie Gives Check Contribution Form. Checks must be received by August 4, 2026.
• Make a charitable IRA rollover or transfer of cash or securities through The Erie Community Foundation.

On August 11

• Donate online at ErieGives.org (midnight–midnight)
• Call the Erie Gives phone bank at 814.454.0843 (8 a.m.–8 p.m.)
