Carencro Catholic School is a vibrant faith-based educational community nestled in Carencro, Louisiana, grounded in more than a century of Catholic tradition and local heritage. Our Story

The roots of Carencro Catholic School date back to 1897, when Fr. A.B. Laforet invited the Sisters of the Order of Mount Carmel to open St. Anne’s Convent School to serve the children of St. Peter’s Parish. Carencro Catholic School Over time, Catholic education in Carencro grew and evolved:

• In 1963, Fr. A. M. Wassler, pastor of St. Peter’s Church, opened St. Pierre School on the strong foundation of the earlier schools. Carencro Catholic School

• Around the same time, the ministry of Saint Katharine Drexel also entered the story: She founded schools for Black and Native American children in the Carencro area (in 1924 and 1926) under the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament; these eventually merged with St. Pierre School in 1971, broadening our heritage.
