Since 1959, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School has been serving Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties as the only Catholic high school in the area.  We strive to embrace the whole person while recognizing their unique talents and strengths. With approximately 775 students in grades 9-12, our college preparatory school challenges our students to pursue academic excellence.

By supporting Mooney on Giving Tuesday, you help us make Cardinal Mooney an even more vibrant place for our students. Our focus this year is to update the landscaping in three different areas on campus--the courtyard, the area surrounding the Gail Baird Learning Center, and around the Chapel and front office. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us reach our Giving Tuesday goal! Together we can make our campus a place that truly reflects the values and spirit of Cardinal Mooney.

Who We Are

Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, a college preparatory institution rooted in Catholic faith, prepares students to serve and lead by nurturing spiritual growth, cultivating the talent of all students, and challenging them to pursue academic excellence. Since 1959, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School has been serving Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties as the only Catholic high school in the area. As a nationally accredited school, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School is now offering the new rigorous AP Capstone diploma, as well as full honors, Advanced Placement, dual enrollment and learning strategies programs. With a 100% acceptance rate to college, the class of 2025 earned over $10,000,000 in merit scholarships. 85% of our students participate in over 30 athletic teams. Our student-athletes have won district, sectional, regional and state titles, and our Girls Basketball team brought home the State Title in 2025. The family environment of Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School fosters spiritual growth and prepares all students to become servant leaders in the world by performing over 30,000 community service hours a year. Our alumni are the proof in our preparation - they span the gambit of civil service leaders, professional athletes, published scientists and business owners that are local, national and world-wide.
