About Our School

Carencro Catholic School is a Christ-centered academic community rooted in more than 125 years of Catholic education in Carencro. We form students spiritually, morally, and academically within a strong tradition of faith and excellence.

Our Story

Catholic education in Carencro began in 1897 with St. Anne’s Convent School, founded by the Sisters of Mount Carmel. In 1963, St. Pierre School opened, later merging in 1971 with two schools established by St. Katharine Drexel for Black and Native American children. These legacies shaped the unified community now known as Carencro Catholic School.

CCS nurtures the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. We uphold strong academic standards, offer before/after-school care and tutoring, and maintain sacred spaces like St. Anne’s Chapel, the Monsignor Wassler Library, and the St. Katharine Drexel Memorial Garden that honor our founders and heritage.

A Fresh Coat of Faith: Renewing Our Campus, Reflecting Our Mission

For more than 125 years, Carencro Catholic School has served the families of Acadiana as a place where faith and learning meet. Rooted in Truth, Virtue, and Relationships, our mission is to form hearts and minds in the light of Christ—preparing our Crusaders to live with courage, compassion, and conviction.

Our historic campus has welcomed generations of students who have learned, laughed, and prayed within its walls. But after so many years of service, those walls are ready for renewal. This year, our #iGiveCatholic campaign — A Fresh Coat of Faith — focuses on a much-needed campus-wide paint project to refresh and restore the spaces that shape our students each day.
