Catholic Charities of South Jersey

OUR MISSION

Catholic Charities of South Jersey is a faith-based agency rooted in the Gospel and in the social teaching of the Catholic Church. We provide social services to, advocate for, and empower the poor, oppressed, or vulnerable. We do this on a non-discriminatory basis throughout the six southern New Jersey counties.

Providing Hope since 1936 – serving the poor and vulnerable with dignity and respect. 

SERVICES AND PROGRAMS

Our programs are designed to serve the most vulnerable populations in South Jersey in order to create stabilization and self-sufficiency for individuals, families, and communities.  This is our duty and responsibility.  We do this not because they are Catholic, but because we are Catholic.

Housing stabilization/homelessness prevention – Basic Needs (diapers, food, hygiene), Furniture Assistance, Rental/Utility Assistance

Adoption Services – Search and Reunification

 

Immigration, Refugees, and Migrants Services - Refugee Resettlement program, English Learning Center, assisting newcomers to assimilate efficiently

 

Prison Ministry - Pastoral and sacramental ministry to the incarcerated

 

Addiction Healing Services - Meeting the challenges of addiction through education, awareness and supportive services for families

 

Veteran Services – Providing housing stabilization to at-risk and homeless veterans

 

Welfare to Work Program – Helping welfare recipients transition to the workforce

 

Family and Community Centers – Located in each county, offering clients a variety of programs and serving as a bridge to other services offered by the agency and other community resources
