The Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Inc

The Catholic Diocese of Biloxi is a community rooted in faith, strengthened in service, and committed to bringing the light of Christ to all of South Mississippi. Guided by Bishop Louis F. Kihneman, our mission flows from three core pillars that shape the daily life, ministry, and witness of our diocesan family.

Led by the Holy Spirit

We seek to surrender to God’s will through a life anchored in prayer, fasting, and Scripture. Whether in the chapel at the Chancery, at Mass, or during a quiet moment in the day, we strive to create a culture where daily prayer is part of our rhythm. From the Rosary and Lectio Divina to journaling, novenas, and contemplative prayer, we encourage practices that draw us closer to Christ. As Catholics, we recognize the importance of fasting and the continual need to let go of worldly distractions so that our hearts remain focused on God. Rooting ourselves in God’s word transforms the way we see the world—and allows us to live with a more deeply biblical worldview.

Intentional Evangelization

We embrace every opportunity to witness and share Christ through radical hospitality, authentic personal testimony, and a bold proclamation of the Gospel. Evangelization begins with how we welcome others—with warmth, attentiveness, and the love of Christ. We believe that sharing our own encounters with God can open hearts and point others to His goodness. In all things, we seek to turn every act of service, every conversation, and every moment of ministry into an invitation to encounter Jesus.

Our mission is lived within the beautiful meeting place of humanity and divinity. We build Christ-centered relationships, meet people where they are, and work toward the healing of the whole person. In the Diocese of Biloxi, we are blessed to serve alongside others who share our faith—yet we know that each person’s journey is unique. We strive to recognize where someone is in their walk with Christ and lovingly accompany them forward. Because ministry asks much of those who serve, we also value spiritual, emotional, and personal healing so that we can remain steadfast in the mission entrusted to us.
