Corpus Christi Parish

At Corpus Christi we are known for our welcoming community, both in our parish and in our school. Most of our parishioners tell us that it's that welcoming spirit that made them want to become part of our parish community. At Corpus Christi, approximately 1100 people attend our weekend Masses and we have over 400 students enrolled in our parish school. 

This year marks 20 years since the renovation of our current church was completed. Over the last few years we've started to see evidence of how much time has passed in many areas, including wear and tear on our doors and windows. For the past few years we have repaired the doors and locking mechanisms, but we are now at the point where replacement is needed. Additionally, many of our windows need complete replacement due to cracks or seal damage that are allowing water to seep in during heavy rains. If you've seen puddles of water along the window frames on a rainy day, this is due to the window seals disintegrating. 

Our parish utility cost is approximately $126,000 each year, or $10,500 per month for the church and community center alone. If you ever see our ushers monitoring the amount of time the doors are open on Sundays, it's because we are trying to keep our air conditioning, or heat from spilling out into the parking lot. If you notice our lights in the church aren't turned on until closer to the start of Mass, it's because those lights heat up the space and consume energy. However, all these little efforts can't compensate for the need for window and door replacement.

This #GivingTuesday, we are asking you to help us achieve another BIG GOAL - complete replacement of several windows that have significant sealing damage and replacement of several doors in our church and community center to ensure improved energy efficiency and safety. The estimated cost of this project is $100,000. We know this is a SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY, but we also know that TOGETHER WE CAN DO BIG THINGS! Our church and community center are used by our entire parish. It's where we come together to worship the Lord every weekend. It is where our entire student body gathers together for Mass and Adoration. It is where Sacraments are received and faith is nurtured.
