Guadalupe Clinic

A nonprofit organization

At Guadalupe Clinic we serve the uninsured and working poor in Wichita and other surrounding communities. These are people without government insurance such as Medicare and Medicaid who fall below 200% of the poverty line. Our services are completely free, without any sliding scale or hidden fees.

For almost 40 years, Guadalupe Health Station was opened by a group of volunteer nurses as a wellness clinic to serve an underprivileged area of Wichita. Like any start up, they quickly realised their model needed adjusted so they re-branded as Guadalupe Clinic - a primary care facility that was 100% donation-based and driven by volunteer providers.

Over the years, Guadalupe Clinic has continued to use this model of volunteer-based care. Outside of our small staff, all medical providers, nurses, and students volunteer their time to treat our patients. The KU medical students (JayDocs) also host clinics on the first Wednesday of every month and every Saturday.

We even offer some speciality services in the clinic through specialists who donate their time, and through referral programs like Project Access and the Medication Assistance Program (MAP). Primary care services provided include diabetic management, diagnostic testing and imaging, behavioural counselling, pharmacy consultations, physician visits, pregnancy testing, and women's wellness, and speciality services include allergy, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, physical therapy, podiatry, pulmonology, and urology.

Our patient visits have increase 24%, from 8,398 visits in 2022 to 10,453 visits in 2023. In 2024 we will exceed 11,000 patient visits.
