"We are one family, rich in culture, united by our faith. Somos una familia, rica en cultura, unida por nuestra fe."

Holy Family Seattle was founded in 1927 and run by the Sisters of Providence for many years. Its first graduating class graduated just four students! Holy Family has a long tradition of serving immigrant families, first mostly German and Italian families, and then changing with immigration trends to serve mostly Hispanic/Latino families, as well as some Vietnamese and Filipino families. Holy Family's enrollment has fluctuated tremendously over almost 100 years, with its peak at 756 students in 1954. Due to the school's growing Latino population, it was decided in 2011 that Holy Family School would become bilingual. Though it took time to develop a model for our dual language program, we now have a thoroughly established full Spanish-immersion program in preschool, a 90/10 model in Pre-Kindergarten, 80/20 in Kindergarten, etc., with each grade level increasing its English allocation by 10% each year. Third through Fifth grades are taught 50/50 English to Spanish, while our middle school (6th-8th grades) are taught in about 30/70 English to Spanish.
