THE PROBLEM

Millions of men and women know the pain of seeing their parents split up, and experience the ripple effects that has for their identity, faith, future relationships, and more. Over one-quarter of all young adults are children of divorce, and that number swells when including those whose parents divorce later in life or who never married but later split up. This vast swath of people deserve the Church's loving attention and balm for their wounds.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Life-Giving Wounds answers this great need as a one-of-a-kind, national Catholic non-profit apostolate with the mission to give voice to the pain of adult children of divorce or separation, and to help them find deep and lasting healing in Christ. We do this through unique, immersive retreats; support groups, and other events that foster ongoing healing and growth; providing a real-time online community for adult children of divorce; and more.

OUR HISTORY...AND FUTURE

Dr. Daniel and Bethany Meola founded Life-Giving Wounds in 2018 as a simple retreat ministry in their home archdiocese of Washington. Since that time, Life-Giving Wounds has become an internationally-reaching non-profit. We have 27 chapters around the country and in Canada (and counting!), provide online ministry several times a year, expanded our support group offerings in 2024, and much more. To date, our Life-Giving Wounds team (including 235+ dedicated volunteer leaders) has intensively accompanied over 2,000 adult children of divorce or separation as they wrestle with their background of family brokenness, join in community with others who know this pain, and move forward into greater faith, hope, love, and joy. Thanks be to God!

Supporting Life-Giving Wounds means giving a voice and hope to the millions of adult children of divorce or separation who desire and deserve specific attention to their wounds, so that the cycle of brokenness can end with them. Please watch our testimony video above to see the ministry "in action" and please visit our website to learn more!

OUR GIVING GOALS

We hope to raise $50,000 total in year-end giving. All donations are matched up to $25,000 total, thanks to several amazingly generous donors!

With this financial support, we want to accomplish the following goals in 2024:

1) Expand our college outreach: we have piloted several college chapters, at both Catholic and secular schools; your donations will help us expand these efforts to reach college-age men and women from broken homes who (research shows) are often grappling for the first time with the impact of their parents' divorce, while they navigate weighty relationship and vocational choices

2) Grow our team: the harvest is plentiful, and your support will help us raise up even more workers in the vineyard who can bring their skills and passion to our team in reaching more adult children of divorce with God's healing; we doubled our full-time team in 2024 and hope to continue growing in 2025

3) Increase our outreach: we want to scale our marketing efforts so more adult children of divorce learn about the help that Life-Giving Wounds can provide; this includes leaning into SEO optimization, strategic marketing efforts across various platforms, and more

And much more...! (Read our full Case for Support here)

Thank you for a donation that will help provide the support and care that adult children of divorce deserve!

Sincerely,

Dr. Daniel and Bethany Meola, founders
