Luke19 – The Logo story.

The story of Zaccheaus is one of God calling a man who was hated by the community down from the tree. He accompanies Zaccheaus to his home for a meal. Zaccheaus is changed by the experience.

Just like the tree we are all rooted together as Children of God. We need each other during our life’s journey to help us grow. The leaves are all heart shaped. There are 12 littler green leaves, one for each of the apostles. The larger green leaf represents Jesus where true life comes from. The colored leaves are us. When looking at the changing leaves in autumn many people say how beautiful they are while never thinking about the idea that each of the leaves are one moment or wind away from dying or falling. All of us are one moment, one bad decision, or one catastrophe from needing someone to help you on life’s journey.

Luke19 provides a shopping pantry for all families. A shopping pantry allows each family to choose the items their family enjoys. Dairy, meat, fresh items as well as pantry staples, the items needed to make a healthy meals.

Luke19 has been blessed to know our people by name. We have celebrated graduations, birthdays and deaths with our families. A number of our volunteers are people who started out with a need and now help serve others.

Luke19 also orchestrates the Santa Project - a truly ecumenical Christmas program. Providing a want, a need and clothing for each child to return to school in a new outfit. Coats and shoes are provided as a family needs. Our giving tree tags are shared throughout the community with businesses, churches, organizations and individuals.

Luke19 partners with our local Catholic School (SS Philip and James) as well as local school district to supply back packs with all supplies for a great start to the school year. We also help supply snacks for the elementary students.

Luke19 also helps with volunteering or support of projects at the SALTbox, Northwest Senior Center and the SAM Center
