On this Giving Tuesday, the National Black Sisters’ Conference (NBSC) pauses to express deep gratitude for your steadfast faithfulness and generous spirit. In this season of generosity, we reaffirm our mission: to uplift Black women religious and empower them to serve the Church with deeper spiritual growth, courageous leadership, and compassionate witness.

Our sisters sustain vibrant ministry through mission, education, self-care, and service. Each pillar is vital for nurturing the next generation of Black sisters who will lead with wisdom, courage, and holiness. Education remains a cornerstone of transformative leadership, supporting scholarships, tutoring, symposiums, and mentorship programs that connect scholars, mentors, and aspiring leaders across NBSC communities. Sustained spiritual leadership requires robust self-care—mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health, including wellness programs, sabbaticals, and spiritual direction networks.

In Our Voices centers the living memories and testimonies of Black sisters, preserving their challenges, triumphs, and sacred contributions to the Church. By documenting these narratives, we strengthen intergenerational mentorship and create rich resources for formation, catechesis, and evangelization. We also seek to enhance our technological capacity to broaden access, coordinate events, and support confidential leadership development across regions.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift supports:

  • Education initiatives: scholarships, mentorships, and formation programs that cultivate capable, faith-filled leaders.
  • In Our Voices: continued storytelling through written narratives, oral histories, and video documentation.
  • Self-care resources: wellness programs, spiritual direction networks, and retreats that sustain long-term ministry.
  • Technology and access: online formation platforms, secure communications, and virtual events to connect Black sisters everywhere.
  • Leadership development: ongoing programs, and intercultural exchanges that enrich leadership across ministries.
