Help Us Keep Our Campus Safe — Support the Safety Platform Implementation at OLA Catholic School, Preschool, and Church

At Our Lady of the Assumption, we're one family - parish, school, and preschool - united in our mission to form disciples of Jesus Christ. Everything we do, from the classroom to the playground to the church, flows from that sacred mission.

To carry out our mission faithfully, we must ensure that every part of our campus is a place of safety and peace - where children, families, parishioners, and staff can pray, learn, and grow with confidence.

That’s why this year — during our #iGiveCatholic campaign — we’re seeking your generous support to launch a vital new safety initiative: the implementation of the Centegix Safety Platform.

What the Centegix Safety Platform will do for us:

Each staff member will wear a badge-style alert device that, at the push of a button, can:

1. Immediately notify 911 dispatch with building, floor, and room-level location details. 
2. Instantly trigger campus-wide audio and visual notifications to alert everyone that a lockdown is in effect.
3. Activate pre-configured lockdown protocols—that means staff don’t have to rely on WiFi or cell service for this alert to work. 

• • The system includes digital mapping of every building—what Centegix calls Safety Blueprint™—so that first responders and campus staff have real-time visuals and precise location information. 
  • Although designed for extreme emergencies, the platform’s usage statistics show that about 98% of alerts are for everyday medical or behavioral incidents—meaning it supports staff in common urgent situations, not just headline threats. 

Why this matters now: We believe that nothing is more important than giving our children the safe learning environment they deserve and our parishioners a safe place to worship and gather. 

With this platform:

• • Staff are empowered to respond immediately in critical moments — every second matters. 
  • Our campus-wide coverage ensures that no location—inside a classroom, outside on the field, inside the church and meeting rooms, or in a parking lot—is unprotected.
  • It strengthens our ability to protect not only our students’ academics and faith formation, and that of our entire parish community, but also their well-being.

We are launching a multi-year effort to implement a critical new safety platform, requiring a total commitment of $58,800 over five years.

Our immediate goal is to raise $18,800 to cover the entire cost of Year 1, including installation, implementation, and staff training. The remaining four years of operation require an additional $40,000 ($10,000 per year).

• Train our entire staff to use the system confidently
