THE GOAL OF OUR #iGiveCatholic CAMPAIGN

Strengthening Safety at St. Athanasius School

At St. Athanasius, the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is always a priority. Based on feedback from our recent parent safety survey, we are focusing this year’s #iGiveCatholic campaign on key security upgrades across both our school and parish campus.

Our planned improvements include:

• Updating the door buzzer system for improved entry access

• Expanding security camera coverage

• Installing upgraded classroom door handles

• Enhancing access controls for the parish hall with updated equipment and procedures

These important investments—ranging from new door hardware to expanded camera and intercom systems—will help ensure a safer environment for everyone who learns, worships, gathers, and serves here.

Our goal for the 2025 campaign is to raise $15,000 to support these upgrades—this is the first step in a multi-year plan to meet even greater needs in the years ahead.

OUR SCHOOL YEAR THEME FOR 2025-2026

The theme for this year, "Every Child, Every Day," reflects our unwavering commitment to serving as educators, mentors, and leaders in the image of Christ. We are called to be His hands and feet, nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of every child in our school, parish and community. This year, we are renewing our efforts to ensure that all children are nourished and supported through the love of Christ. Our devotion to providing for their well-being extends through the investment of time, talent, and treasure, as we work to create a safe and supportive environment for learning and growth. In line with this mission, we are making meaningful upgrades to enhance the safety of every child, every day, reaffirming our commitment to their protection and flourishing.

OUR HISTORY

For 64 years, St. Athanasius School has opened its doors—and its heart—to families seeking a place where faith and learning grow side by side. What began as a dedicated parish school has become a community rooted in compassion, guided by the Gospel, and committed to forming young people who will make a difference in the world.

From the beginning, our mission has been to nurture the whole child. Today, that mission remains strong as we teach our students what it means to be Scholarly, Welcoming, Accountable, Respectful, and Motivated. These values shape not only their education but their character, their choices, and the way they see Christ in others.

Families choose St. Athanasius because they find more than academics—they find a home. In our classrooms and hallways, children grow in faith, build friendships, discover their talents, and learn to serve. They come here to nourish their minds, deepen their beliefs, and strengthen their souls as they prepare to become the leaders of tomorrow.

WHO WE ARE

Today, St. Athanasius School serves more than 225 students from Pre-K through 8th grade across the Louisville community. In partnership with parents, we walk with each child as they grow spiritually, intellectually, morally, emotionally, and physically.

Everything we do is rooted in our Catholic identity—celebrating the Eucharist together, praying together, learning together, and supporting one another as a family of faith.

St. Athanasius remains a place where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to become the person God created them to be.
