For more than 130 years, the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi has been a place where countless Highlands families have come to worship, to celebrate, and to receive inspiration, encouragement, and support.  Our school has educated literally thousands of children and our ministries have transformed the lives of people in our city, our state, and even around the world.  Your generous donation will ensure that St. Francis of Assisi church and school will continue to be a presence of Christ in the Highlands for generations to come.

Who We Are

St. Francis of Assisi is a vibrant Catholic community in the Highlands of Louisville, Kentucky. Our church was established in 1886 to serve German immigrants, and we've been dedicated to serving the needs of others ever since.

Our school, with a maximum enrollment of 265, is known as "The small school with the big heart" because of our focus on outreach at every grade level. Our students assist and get to know marginalized members of our community and learn that these are people just like them.

St. Francis of Assisi was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We are proud of our students and teachers whose achievements have earned them this prestigious academic recognition!
