St Mary of Perpetual Help

This Giving Tuesday, St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church invites you to help strengthen the beauty, visibility, and hospitality of our historic parish—one rooted in deep faith, perseverance, and community.

St. Mary of Moselle began as a mission parish in the fall of 1880, and in 1905 it became the independent parish of St. Mary of Perpetual Help. Many of our current parishioners are proud descendants of the thirteen families who first formed the mission. From the very beginning, the parish hosted an annual picnic, a tradition that continues to this day and reflects the joyful spirit of our community.

St. Mary of Perpetual Help shares a pastor, Fr. Alexander Nord, with two nearby parishes: St. James Catholic Church in Catawissa and St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic Church in Pacific. Together, we form a shared family of faith—three distinct parishes with one mission to love God, serve His people, and unite all in Christ.

This Giving Tuesday, St. Mary’s is raising $30,000 to improve parish signage at three important locations:

• A redesigned sign right outside the church

• A new sign for the cemetery

• A sign at the corner of Highway AT and St. Mary’s Road

These updated signs will help welcome visitors, honor our history, and clearly mark our parish grounds for generations to come.

Why does this matter?

Beautiful, clear signage helps strengthen the identity and visibility of our parish community. These improvements will:

• Create a more welcoming presence for first-time visitors

• Help travelers and newcomers easily find the church

• Provide respectful, dignified signage for our historic cemetery

• Strengthen our Catholic presence along Highway AT

• Reflect the beauty, pride, and faith of the St. Mary’s community
