St. Nicholas Academy

The Mission of St. Nicholas Academy: The Catholic Community of St. Nicholas Academy nurtures compassion and embraces diversity to achieve personal excellence by imitating Christ. 

St. Nicholas Academy, grounded in the Catholic mission “To Teach As Jesus Did,” partners with parents to deepen the education and faith formation that begins at home. The school fosters intellectual, spiritual, social, cultural, and physical growth by promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and responsible decision-making. Committed to nurturing compassion and embracing diversity, the academy teaches students to live out the Gospel through prayer, liturgy, and service.

A few examples of some of the amazing work happening at St. Nicholas Academy are our Servant Leadership program and our newly formed Families Formed in Faith mission. The servant leadership program has grown tremendously over the past year thanks to students’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to helping others in the community. The 2025–2026 SNA Servant Leadership Program is designed to provide students with opportunities to grow in responsibility, empathy, and virtue by leading through service to others. This year, our newly created Families Formed in Faith mission brought a special moment to the life of St. Nicholas Academy as our school and parish communities gathered for the first time to pray the Holy Rosary, followed by joyful fellowship at an ice cream social. It was a blessing to witness students, parents, grandparents, parishioners, and staff lifting their hearts in prayer as one family formed in faith, and we cannot wait to offer more opportunities for our community to come together and grow in faith.

As the most culturally diverse elementary school in the Archdiocese of Louisville, representing over 40 countries, St. Nicholas Academy provides a welcoming environment where all children feel valued, supported, and loved.
