St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral

Founded in 1907 and consecrated in 1908, St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral stands as the spiritual heart of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno. Located in the heart of downtown Reno, this historic cathedral has served generations of faithful through worship, outreach, and community service. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the cathedral is renowned for its neoclassical architecture and its breathtaking sanctuary mural, “Adoration of the Lamb of God,” painted by Edith and Isabel Piczek. We have about 1,100 people who attend Mass per weekend and commonly have ones who are from out of town who are visiting Reno. 

Your generous support helps preserve this sacred space and sustain its crucial ministries. Our current priorities are to fix the 100 year old grand staircase ($50,000), install and upgrade our security cameras to ensure our sacred space is safe for all who attend ($50,000), and support our new youth ministry program to journey with our recently confirmed ($15,000). Every gift strengthens our ability to serve the Reno community and beyond, ensuring that St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral remains a beacon of faith, beauty, and hope for future generations.
