A Call to Stand With Children

If you are being called toward children in foster care and the families who care for them, if your faith is meant to take shape in your life, receive this as an invitation to discern, to decide, and to act.

To care for the vulnerable is not merely something we affirm in principle. It is a lived participation in the work of love that God places before us each day. You do not have to foster or adopt to answer this call. What is asked is both simple and serious, a generous heart, steady commitment, and the courage to stand close to children and families who carry heavy burdens.

Your presence matters. Your consistency matters. Your generosity matters.

Whether you give your time, your talent, or your resources, you become part of the answer to a child’s prayer for safety, steadiness, and a worthy future.

About Atlanta Angels

Atlanta Angels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Metro Atlanta. We exist so every family who fosters is radically supported, and every child and youth in foster care is given the conditions to grow into who they were created to be.

Our work is rooted in relationship, not transaction. We accompany families and youth with steady presence, practical care, and consistent mentorship that endures beyond moments of crisis.

Through Love Box® and Dare to Dream®, we make stability real, trust possible, and hope credible.

We safeguard children in foster care so they are not forgotten, overlooked, or reduced to a statistic. We surround them with healthy relationships and a faithful, consistent community that honors their inherent dignity. The fruit is clear. Foster families are strengthened to remain open longer. Young people begin to flourish in mind, character, and hope. Over time, the generational cycle of trauma yields to healing. When one child is supported toward a good future, families are fortified, communities are steadied, and the common good is advanced.

Though not structured as a Catholic nonprofit organization, our roots run deep in the Faith. Our Executive Director, Christie Simons, a Belmont Abbey graduate and adoptive mother through foster care, was called to begin this work in 2020. Today our team of 15 walks with more than 300 children and families across Georgia through intentional giving, faithful relationship, and purposeful mentorship.

Discernment and Accompaniment

If you are prayerfully considering fostering or adoption, Atlanta Angels walks with you in that discernment. We help you listen, understand the realities of foster care, and be supported by a faithful community rather than carry the call alone.

While you discern, Atlanta Angels offers a concrete way to serve.

Love Box. Walk with one foster family each month through encouragement, essential supplies, and steady presence. One-year commitment required.

Dare to Dream. Mentor a youth ages 11 to 22, building trust and helping them grow in virtue, confidence, and purpose. One-year commitment required.

Angel Allies. Serve flexibly at events, committees, or special projects.

Partner as a Business or Parish

In-Kind Donations. Provide what children and families need now.

Employee Engagement. Unite your team around meaningful service that forms both character and culture.

Cause Marketing. Align your business with a mission that serves the vulnerable.

Parish groups may accompany one foster family monthly through Love Box. Parishioners may mentor through Dare to Dream. Communities may sustain this mission through monthly giving.

Support the Mission Through Giving

If your current season does not allow direct service, your generosity remains a real work of charity. Financial gifts sustain the presence, relationships, and care that keep families together and give young people a future. You may give with confidence, knowing your gift is stewarded with care and transparency.

Why Your Involvement Matters

As St. Lawrence taught, the true treasures of the Church are the poor, the suffering, and the vulnerable.

Nationally, half of foster youth never graduate high school. Fewer than three percent graduate college. Nearly fifty percent of foster homes close within the first year.

With Atlanta Angels, the story changes. Ninety-three percent of our youth graduate high school on time. Ninety-eight percent of foster families remain open. Children average 0.05 moves per year, compared to nearly four nationally.

These outcomes flow from faithful relationships rooted in charity.

People of faith are uniquely positioned to respond.
