Support the Children of the Missionary Childhood Association, This Giving Tuesday!

As Giving Tuesday approaches on December 3rd, we, the young missionaries of the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) in Los Angeles, invite you to join us in a global day of giving by supporting our mission through iGiveCatholic. This year, your support means the world to children everywhere who depend on MCA for hope, essential resources, and the love of Christ shared through young people like us.

What is the Missionary Childhood Association?

MCA is part of the Pope's official mission, one of the Pontifical Mission Societies, to care for children in need in mission dioceses around the world. MCA’s motto, “Children Helping Children,” inspires us to become missionaries ourselves, bringing faith, love, and compassion to peers who live in difficult conditions. Through MCA, we work together as young Catholics to support those who lack the basic things many of us take for granted, like desks, school supplies, or even regular meals.

Our Mission as Young Missionaries

As MCA members here in Los Angeles, we organize events like walk-a-thons, bake sales, and special school activities to raise funds, along with collecting donations through our mite boxes and coin cards. These efforts are our way of showing love and living out Jesus' message to "love our neighbors." We are committed to helping children in mission areas, knowing that even the smallest actions can make a real difference. In many parts of the world, children walk miles to school, lack basic necessities, and face difficult situations at home—but through our work, we can help make their lives a little brighter.

How You Can Make a Difference This Giving Tuesday

When you contribute to iGiveCatholic on December 3rd, you’re helping us make a greater impact. Last year, with the help of generous donors, we raised over $85,000 to help children in need worldwide. Each year, we honor and celebrate this commitment by gathering with thousands of young people for the MCA Youth Appreciation Mass—the largest children’s Mass in the country! It’s a day filled with unity, mission activities, and awards that celebrate the faith and dedication of young missionaries like us.

Starting November 18th, you can schedule your gift in advance for Giving Tuesday, December 3rd. Giving options include:

By Check: Send checks payable to The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, with “MCA-iGiveCatholic” in the memo line, to 3424 Wilshire Blvd., 3rd Fl., Los Angeles, CA 90010.

Your donation will directly support projects like St. John’s Catholic Primary School in Lilongwe, Malawi. At St. John’s, over 5,000 children from nearby villages come to learn and grow. Through MCA, these children receive the supplies they need—shoes, books, writing materials, and more—all in a faith-centered school environment where they feel supported, loved, and hopeful for their future.

This year, we’ve set a super exciting goal to raise $20,000 through iGiveCatholic, and we would LOVE your help to reach it!
