The Bishop Michael J. Murphy Residence for Retired Priests (MJM Residence) is located at 400 East Gore Road, Erie, PA. It was built in 1991 as an Independent Living Facility for retired priests who served the Diocese of Erie. It has ten individual suites for the priests to reside. As with any building over thirty years old, the residence has required some significant maintenance. As you know, over the last several years, we have asked for donations for various projects that provide enhancements and upkeep of the building. We are happy to report that, due to your very generous giving in 2024, we were able to replace all window treatments in the priests’ suites and convert an unused first floor room into an exercise room. Additionally, last year’s donations paid to replace two outside emergency doors. The residents are very grateful! We invite you to consider supporting our project for this year, which is to replace the dining room tables and chairs where the priests not only dine, but also spend social time together. Additional dollars will supplement the operating budget and the replacement of air conditioner units and garage overhead doors.
