MISSION - Provide our neighbors on the South Plains with a path to well-being through support and empowerment.
Established in 1984, Catholic Charities is dedicated to providing services that bolster and support the most vulnerable and most in-need in our community and surrounding counties: at risk families, the young, the elderly and immigrants. The mission of Catholic Charities of Lubbock is based on the gospel of Matt. 25:40 - "... whatsoever you did for the least of these, you did for me."
Because of the generosity of many people like you, hope is reaching those who need it most. During the past year:

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE ARE BLESSED TO DO
Catholic Charities of Lubbock believes in serving the whole person and the whole family and accompanying them on their journey to build better lives. This is done through eight internal programs meant to address the spectrum of needs and issues that individuals and families face:
1. Direct Client Assistance Program – provides emergency assistance with the basic necessities during a crisis including food, assistance with utilities, prescription drugs, help to get both eye exams, and dental care, vouchers for both clothing and household goods, and giving emergency hygiene items.
2. Family and Youth Success (FAYS) Program – as children grow parents often struggle with their life changes and Catholic Charities jumps in with free counseling and coaching for children, youth, and families.
3. Family Support Program - offers at-risk and general population families education, family programs and events, parenting workshops, parent cafes, support groups, peer support, referrals, and opportunities to serve as advisors.
4. Kinship Program – provides support, resources, and referrals for those struggling to raise children in their care temporarily or in that time frame of retaining custody.
5. Immigration Program – assistance with the processes and applications for employment authorization cards and permanent resident cards for those beginning a new life in our communities who have limited resources for legal services.
6. Parent Empowerment Program – assists low-income families with additional education in a technical field certificate, and/or securing an associate degree, and/or a bachelor’s degree, providing the family an exit strategy to poverty.
7. Elderly Outreach Program (EOP) – assists low-income, 60 years and older with eyeglasses, eye exams, prescriptions, hearing aids, dentures, and other dental services.
8. Resale Center – vouchers are utilized to provide clothing and household goods for those who are struggling with basic needs.
