The Catholic Community at Hopkins

The Catholic Community at Hopkins is a campus ministry that welcomes all Johns Hopkins students, faculty, and staff and invites them into friendship with Jesus. College life at Hopkins is fast-paced, demanding, and sometimes isolating. In the midst of exams, research deadlines, and the pressure to succeed, our students don't often get the chance to stop and rest. Our retreats provide that opportunity—a chance to step away from the noise and experience the peace only Christ can give. Each retreat is more than a weekend away. CCH Retreats are often a turning point in our students' lives. 

For some, it may be the first time they've experienced Eucharistic adoration or confession since childhood. 

For others, it's the moment they realize they are not alone in living their faith at Hopkins. 

For many, it's the spark that leads them to enter into the Church, share their faith with friends, join Bible studies, or even discern a religious vocation. 

HOW YOUR GIFT CAN MAKE AN IMPACT:

Retreats form the heart of our campus ministry. They are where faith is renewed, friendships are strengthened, and students are equipped to return to campus as witnesses to Christ. This year, we are setting a $40,000 goal for Giving Tuesday! This is the estimated cost of offering all our retreats for an entire year: Fall Retreat, Men's Retreat, Women's Retreat, and Spring Retreat. Between transportation, lodging, meals, and scholarships, retreats are one of our most significant ministry expenses. We rely on your generosity to keep them affordable and accessible to every student who desires to come! 

WE HAVE A GENEROUS $10,000 MATCH!

To help us reach our goal, a generous couple has pledged a $10,000 challenge gift that will be unlocked as we hit key milestones throughout the campaign. Half of the gift was released when we hit $10,000 and the other half will be released once we reach $25,000.  And here's our commitment: if we reach our full $40,000 goal, we will be able to make our 2026 Spring Retreat completely FREE for all students. Currently, we ask students to cover a small portion of the per-person cost. With your support, we can remove that barrier entirely this year, making retreat a true gift for every student. 

Your gift makes it possible for a student to say "yes" to the Lord's invitation. Together, we can give them space to rest, pray, and encounter the Lord in a transformative way. If by God's grace we exceed our $40,000 goal, every gift beyond that will help us meet the many growing needs of CCH—ensuring that we can continue to bring students to Christ, year after year.
