Catholic Rural Ministry of Oil City Deanery

 

Witnessing to God’s Hope and God's Compassionate Presence," 

is the mission of Catholic Rural Ministry.

Two Sisters serve the people of Venango, Clarion & Forest Counties

and parts of Crawford and Warren Counties - Titusville and Tidioute.

This Deanery area includes 14 parishes and faith formation programs,

3 catholic school systems,

and various faith groups-

Catholic Daughters of America, Knights of Columbus, 

Altar Rosary Societies, Care and Concern/ Walking with Moms, Spirituality Groups

     OUTREACH TO THOSE IN OUR REGION

Bereavement, Life Transitions, Health and Transportation Issues,

the Sisters are “here” for all who request our assistance.

Catholic Rural Ministry helps families in need gain self-sufficiency

with appropriate area agency referrals.

Yearly, the Sisters aid over 150 families toward self-sufficiency.

The Sisters also serve on various social services and civic boards.

 

VOCATION MINISTRY –

The Sisters visit the schools and faith formation programs,

getting to know students from K through Grade 12.

During Catholic School Week, programs are offered on various themes,

especially vocation stories, care for the earth and 

service dealing with the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.

SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT – Youth

The Sisters present as requested

Sacramental and Grade Level Retreats, Christian Service Opportunities, and Catechist Support.

The Sisters and Volunteers Pat and Barb hold a spirituality/bible group

at a young woman’s residential facility twice a month.

 

SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT – Adults

Each year the Sisters hold a deanery wide overnight adult retreat program at Olmsted Manor, Ludlow PA.

Adult bible study and reflection are held every other Friday morning at the Knights of Columbus in Oil City

Various Advent and Lent programs as well as various spiritual book studies are offered annually.
