Catholic Rural Ministry of Oil City Deanery

   

Witnessing to "God’s Hope and God's Compassionate Presence,"  

is the mission of Catholic Rural Ministry.

Two Religious Women, Sister Marian Wehler, OSB and Sister Tina Geiger, RSM,

 serve the people of Venango, Clarion & Forest Counties and parts of Crawford and Warren Counties - Titusville and Tidioute.

This Deanery area includes 14 parishes and their faith formation programs,

3 catholic school systems,

and various faith groups-

Catholic Daughters of America, Knights of Columbus, 

Altar Rosary Societies, Care and Concern/ Walking with Moms, 

 and Spirituality Groups

Respond to people of all faiths in the 5 county area .

 

     OUTREACH TO THOSE IN OUR REGION

In Bereavement, Life Transitions, Health and Transportation Issues,

the Sisters are “here” for all who request our assistance.

Catholic Rural Ministry helps families in need gain self-sufficiency

with appropriate area agency referrals.

The Sisters also serve on various social services and civic boards.

 

VOCATION MINISTRY –

The Sisters visit the schools and faith formation programs,

getting to know students from K through Grade 10.

During the academic year, the Sisters offer programs on various themes,

such as Vocation stories and the 8th Work of Mercy: Care of the Earth.

YOUTH SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT 

The Sisters offer, as requested,

Sacramental and Grade Level Retreats and 

Christian Service Opportunities.

    The Sisters help celebrate Sr. Tina's Godchild's 1st birthday!

   The Sisters and volunteers hold a spirituality/bible group

  at a young woman’s residential facility twice a month.

 

SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT – Adults

Each year the Sisters hold a deanery wide overnight adult retreat program at Olmsted Manor, Ludlow PA.

Adult bible study is held every other Friday morning 

at the Knights of Columbus in Oil City.

Various Advent and Lenten programs

 as well as various spiritual book studies are offered annually.
