We are proud to be the Coastals' campus ministry for CCU and HGTC students, providing a home away from home—a place where they can connect with like-minded friends, grow in faith, have fun, feel accepted without judgment, attend Mass and Adoration, and build lifelong relationships. We are in a period of growth.

After celebrating an incredible 66.7% growth in our Holy Spirit ministry during the first semester, we’re filled with gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead. But with limited funds this year, we’re reaching out for your support. We set a “generic” goal of $3,330 this year—just a small reminder of the Trinity. Every gift goes straight to supporting our ministry, and we trust that God will provide whatever is needed.

Your generosity helps cover essential expenses—food, snacks, games, liturgy supplies, marketing materials, and more—so our Chants team can focus on what matters most: serving students. Your support makes it possible to share meals, host retreats, and offer simple gifts such as Christmas and graduation presents that remind students they are seen, valued, and loved.                                         

                                           

Our recent marketing efforts have helped spread the word, yet there’s still much more to do. Our goal is simple: that every student on campus knows we exist. We often say, “If they know it’s here, they will come.”                                          

                                         

Meet our 2025–2026 FOCUS Missionaries: Emily, Andy, and Lauren! They’re pouring their hearts into leading Bible studies, walking with students in discipleship, and boldly helping us evangelize across campus.

                                         

With your help, we can expand outreach through new signage, Catholic Chants postcards, and other creative ways to connect with students wherever they are on their faith journey.

A Little More About Catholic Chants Newman Center

Recognized as an official affiliate of Coastal Carolina University (CCU), we are proud to be part of both the Diocese of Charleston and the Newman Ministry network.

We celebrate Mass every Sunday and Wednesday at 6:00 PM, with Confessions at 5:00 PM.

Wednesdays are “Chants Nights”—our fun and faith-filled social evenings featuring Confession, Mass, dinner, games, and community time.

Our chapel is open for prayer throughout the week, and students can sign up for Bible studies, spiritual formation, retreats, bingo nights, and more. The center also offers a welcoming space for studying, relaxing, and connecting with others.

The Catholic Chants Newman Center is a home for CCU and HGTC students to connect, grow, and pray together—a community where faith is strengthened, friendships are built, and college life is lived joyfully in Christ.

Catholic Chants is a vibrant community of students seeking to grow in faith, friendship, and a deeper relationship with God. We understand that college life can be challenging, and having a supportive community can make all the difference.

Whether you enjoy large gatherings, small groups, or meaningful one-on-one conversations, there are many ways to get involved. There are no requirements or expectations—everyone is welcome, no matter where you are on your faith journey!
