For over a century, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans has offered life-giving programs, covering physical and mental health to create healthy outcomes and offer support for healthful living and improved quality of life.  

• We advocate for the voiceless by building strong networks of family support.
• We work to shape generational success and break harmful cycles of suffering by addressing the needs of CHILDREN, SENIORS, and their CAREGIVERS.
• We foster a just society, helping people navigate the legal system, access and maintain affordable and safe housing and successfully complete the immigration process.
• We empower the vulnerable in our community and individual disasters.
• When faced with crisis, from natural disasters to homelessness and domestic violence, individuals turn to the agency for direct assistance, case management, and support.

Every dollar raised for iGiveCatholic is designated for the Archbishop Hannan Community Appeal (AHCA).

The AHCA was started in 1965 by Archbishop Philip M. Hannan in the wake of Hurricane Betsy and in response to the overwhelming needs of the poor in New Orleans.

In 2012, Archbishop Gregory Aymond and the Catholic Charities Board of Directors renamed this annual giving campaign in memory of Archbishop Philip M. Hannan, its founder, as a way of honoring his life's legacy of service to the poor in our community.

Today, the AHCA campaign raises funds for many of the same needs and challenges still facing our community. We continue to count on our friends and supporters like you for the monies needed to fund the valuable programs of Catholic Charities.
