CCM Diocese of Charlotte

A nonprofit organization

Catholic Campus Ministry in the Diocese of Charlotte serves the colleges and universities across western North Carolina. CCM connect college students with fellow Catholics on campus to build a community rooted in the Gospel and Sacraments - empowering each student to become a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ!

The mission of Catholic Campus Ministry is outlined in the USCCB document, Empowered by the Spirit (1985). This document identifies six key areas of campus ministry. In the Diocese of Charlotte, we aim to fulfill the six areas and have added a seventh to emphasize the role of vocational discernment in college.

Facilitating Personal Development: Choices relating to career and educational opportunities, as well as leisure time activities, are grounded in a relationship with God.

Building the Faith Community: Creating loving connections within the Catholic community.

Preparing Future Leaders: Fostering a strong self-image that encourages stewardship of one’s gifts for both the Christian community and the wider world.

Forming the Christian Conscience: Using Gospel values to shape one’s beliefs and actions.

Appropriating the Faith: Sharing the richness of the Catholic tradition so these ideas can become real in people’s lives.

Educating for Justice: Participating in learning and activities focused on respect for creation and Jesus’ care for the marginalized.

Fostering Vocations: Helping students hear and follow God’s call in their lives.
