Centro Hispano Marista: Opening Doors and Inspiring Hope

Centro Hispano Marista offers adults affordable GED preparation so they can pursue higher education, aspire to better jobs, and secure a promising future for themselves and their families. 

As a program of the Society of Mary, we welcome every adult learner with hospitality and walk alongside them on their journey to earn a GED diploma. Centro’s bilingual instruction, personalized support, and flexible learning meet students where they are, honoring their unique stories and circumstances.

Maria earned her GED in 2025, and she shared:

Before coming to Centro Hispano Marista, I believed my time to study had already passed. I had stopped going to school after fourth grade due to circumstances beyond my control, and I thought that would be the end of my educational journey. But when I found Centro Hispano Marista, I began to believe again. I saw hope and realized there could still be something more for me.

Thanks to Centro Hispano Marista, I now trust myself and my abilities. I see that I have great potential to achieve anything I set my mind to. Centro Hispano Marista has truly marked a “before and after” in my life. I am beyond excited to be part of the Class of 2025!

This year, Centro celebrated our 500th GED graduate. Each diploma earned is a story of hope, opening doors to better jobs, providing financial stability, and giving parents the confidence to support their children’s education. The transformation ripples outward, strengthening our entire community.

Stretching Our Goal

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we've already reached our initial #iGiveCatholic goal of raising $1,500! This early support shows us just how much our community believes in helping adults return to school, earn their GED, and build brighter futures.

Because the response has been so encouraging—and because the need remains so great—we're raising our goal to $2,500. Every dollar goes directly to students who walk through our doors seeking hope, opportunity, and a second chance at education.
