Who we are:

The Diocese of Reno (located in Northern Nevada) covers 70,852 square miles and includes 12 counties. Many of our parishes are not located in one centralized urban area. They are located in rural areas, and transportation cost to gather us as a community (locally and in other states/countries for conferences) is a struggle we face.

How can you help?

World Youth Day 2027

World Youth Day (WYD) is a global gathering with the Pope, held approximately every three years in a different nation. It welcomes all young individuals eager to participate in a celebratory encounter focused on Jesus Christ alongside their peers. This event provides a chance to personally experience the universality of the Catholic Church and to share with the world the hope of many young people dedicating their lives to Christ and His Church. World Youth Day offers a distinctive opportunity to deepen one’s faith and grow closer to Christ through prayer and the Sacraments, alongside hundreds of thousands of other young people who share similar interests and aspirations.

As we prepare for the World Youth Day event in August 2027, we are initiating our fundraising efforts at an early stage due to the substantial expenses, which range from $5,000 to $6,000 per participant. Our goal is to have between 20 and 30 attendees and we aspire to subsidize a portion of the costs for each participant. We kindly request your generous contributions below.

Steubenville Youth Conference Scholarship

The Steubenville Youth Conferences, an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville, are a series of 25 conferences across North America that help teens encounter the love of Christ every summer. Their mission is to build the Church by evangelizing, equipping, and empowering God’s children to become radical and joyful disciples. In 2025, 100 participants from our Diocese attended Steubenville conferences at various locations around the country. 38 of those participants were from the rural parishes in our diocese. For some, this was their first time on a plane or leaving the state of Nevada! Unfortunately, cost sometimes discourages participation! We do want cost to be a factor in someone not attending!
