Who We Are

The Hispanic Apostolate was founded in 1972 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans to serve the needs of the Hispanic people in the community. The Hispanic Center was founded in 2012 and represents the fulfillment and the desire of the Hispanic Apostolate. The Archdiocese of New Orleans was founded on the basis to provide a location where the Hispanic Community can gather and receive various services and pastoral care. Our goal is to work together and improve the wellbeing of the spiritual life in individuals and groups alike, in order to celebrate and serve our faith and unity.
The Hispanic Center shares the Archdiocese of New Orleans mission:
Impelled by Christ’s call, we who serve in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and collaborate with the Archbishop in bringing about the Reign of God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we work in the service and collaboration with parishes, schools and organizations. Empowered by our mission to evangelize and catechize, we offer witness and service in leading worship. Through this, we celebrate the saving of Christ and offer pastoral care for all of God’s people.
To fulfill this mission the Hispanic Center will provide services in the following areas:
