Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Holy Family Church in Luling began offering FIRE Nights (Family Involved Religious Education). Each month, parishioners and friends of all ages are invited to join us for dinner, preceded by Faith tracks for everyone: Toddlers, kids, teens, and adults (ages 18-99). Babysitting is provided for ages 3 and under.
The FIRE nights have been a huge success! We are grateful to our families and dedicated volunteers. We are asking for donations to support this program, to cover everything from food to paper products to miscellaneous expenses. We appreciate your support for a great year of Family Involved Religious Education (FIRE)! May God bless you abundantly.
Anyone who donates $50 or more on our iGiveCatholic page will have their name entered in a drawing to win dinner with Fr. Vincent and Holy Family Staff! We will also pick 10 donors (who donate any amount) to receive a Holy Family car magnet!
38 Years of Faith
Holy Family Catholic Church has been serving Luling, Louisiana and the surrounding areas for more than 38 years. In that time, we have built a parish based in faith and the message of Christ’s love. Our parish has a deep history and relationship with the people of Luling, and we are more than happy to share that with you.
Holy Family Church is composed of many worshipping communities, including Mimosa Park, Lakewood, Lakewood West, Lakewood South, Davis Plantation, Willowdale, Willowridge, Lagatutta, Primrose Estates, Primrose 1 and Coronado Park.
This parish began as a mission of St. Anthony of Padua Church located on Angus Drive in Luling in 1977. The first Eucharist was celebrated in Mimosa School on Sunday, February 12, 1978, the first Sunday in Lent that year. Holy Family Parish had their first Eucharistic celebration on October 19, 1980, in the present Life Center building.
The Parish Center was built in 1986 and the rectory in 1989. The number of registered families since 1980 has increased over 160 percent from 520 registered families in 1980 to 1,350 families registered with Holy Family Church in 2013.
Due to this increase in registered families, it was necessary for us to plan and build a new church building. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new church was held on the feast of Holy Family--December 26, 1999. On October 17, 2001, the dedication ceremony of Holy Family Church took place with Archbishop Francis B. Schulte presiding.
A pre-school was opened in 1986 with 58 children.
A Summer Camp was opened in 1995 with a capacity of 126 campers.
There are over 300 students in grades 1-11 in our ever expanding School of Religion program.
