Holy Name Church

Dear friends,

Allow me to introduce you to Holy Name Parish.  We are a hard working parish located in Louisville Kentucky, offering Masses both in English and in Spanish.  We have 88 children enrolled in the St. Carlo Acutis School of Faith, our program of religious education, for the 2025-2026 school year.  We partner with Catholic Charities in support of the Fr. Jack Jones Food Pantry, serving the poor and needy in our area. We collaborate with U of L Catholic offering campus ministry to students in our area and we are excited to open a medical clinic with the U of L School of Medicine beginning in November.

We are happy to participate in this year's  iGiveCatholic Holy Name and we ask for your support of our parish. 

STEWARDSHIP AND DISCIPLESHIP GOAL

We are excited to announce this year's iGiveCatholic, leading us to a total fundraising goal of $20,000.  First and foremost, your donations allow us to keep up with the demands of ministry in our area. Thank you!!!!!

Our parish also has several important projects we want to accomplish in 2025 - 2026, with your help.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP GOALS

1. Restore the church floor

Refurbishing the terrazzo floors is a 4 step process. This is the result after the 2nd step!

Our beautiful terrazzo floors have had old wax on them for far too long and have been looking dull for far too long.  

One of our parishioners volunteered to use the burnisher and diamond grit pads
to take on the dusty work of polishing out scratches and bringing the floor to a renewed high sheen.  

There is some cost associated with purchasing a burnisher and the diamond grit pads. 

This really is a messy and labor intensive process.

And there is that spot in the new chapel for Our Lady of Guadalupe
chapel (which, by the way, your donations from last year made the new chapel happen!) that has two big holes.  



We want to raise funds to complete the restoration
of the church floor.

2. New pipes for our Church Organ

Two years ago we were gifted
with a new set of "trumpet pipes"
for our parish organ.  
They have been sitting in a box
in the choir loft until just the right time
for installation.

Our 1921 organ is a sense of pride for our congregation.
With the addition of the "Trumpet Pipes"
we will be able to enjoy a new dimension
of rich and vibrant melodic joy.  

We met an organ builder
who is able to do the work for us.
With some reconfiguring of the pipe chest,
the new pipes can be installed in time for Christmas.

3. Parish Operations

Finally, we always want to be sure
that we can pay all of our parish bills.  We anticipate a bit of a parish deficit this year as expenses have gone up
but people's salaries
have not gone up the same way.  

We are all trying to meet expenses.  
Your donations will help Holy Name Parish keep up with the call
to minister to the people of God
in our area.
