Mary, Mother of the Church

The Mission of Mary Mother of the Church, as a Christ-centered community,
is to be a radiant light in the world and a bold witness to those whose lives we touch;
inspiring them to love God and to love one another as God loves us.

Our parish, founded in 1971, is now 54 years old, and our buildings need additional care as they age.  

Our Church and Reilly Center (gym) roofs will both be over 20 years old in the coming year.  The gym roof is the original roof from when the building was erected in the late 90s.  The church roof was last replaced in 2005.  Cost estimates to replace both roofs was over $315,000 in 2020, and we expect today's costs to far exceed those prices! 

The gym roof has a few leaks that we have tried to repair but have not been able to find the source of the leaks (common on flat roofs).  That will be our first roof we replace and we hope to do that in 2026 or 2027.  Our job right now is to obtain estimates and gather the needed funds, so that the work can be scheduled.

Thankfully, the church roof has a bit of life left; it has no leaks and the upper roof membrane is in good condition. That can wait a year or two before we need to replace it.

This year, all donations to our #iGiveCatholic initiative will be deposited into our Major Project Fund, which are the monies set aside for major improvement and capital expense-level repairs.
