The Mission of Friendship

The Mission of Friendship is a collaboration between the people of the Archdiocese of Yucatán and the Diocese of Erie.  Centered in Christ, this missionary outreach provides opportunities for the people of the U.S. and México to grow in faith and love through mutual friendship and service to others while sharing their gifts, talents, and cultures with each other.  All of these efforts aim at alleviating poverty and bringing about greater social justice and peace.  Among many other things, the Mission of Friendship runs social service programs for children in the city of Mérida, México, hosts the Amigos family sponsorship program, and builds sister-parish relationships between parish communities in the Diocese of Erie and Yucatán.
