We want to continue building up God's kingdom, but we need your help to accomplish that work. Your support will ensure that NACSAM is sustainable and mission driven for another 40 years. It will assist in providing top of the line, professional spiritual development through an annual retreat, webinars, and panel discussions for individuals working in Catholic social action.  These leaders are oftentimes an office of one and feel isolated in their efforts.  Your support will demonstrate a commitment to amplifying Catholic social doctrine with impacts that will reverberate within your community.  

Your gift will: 

• help amplify Catholic social doctrine as an integral part of Catholic Church teaching throughout the country
• reignite support for professional lay ministers, who oftentimes are an office of one
• fund the second Retreat and Immersive Summer Experience (RISE) event 
• expand the virtual webinar programming opportunities to increase national participation
• provide for the necessary technological updates to our internal membership system

Who We Are

The National Association of Catholic Social Action and Mission (formerly known as the Roundtable Association of Catholic Diocesan Social Action Directors) has been amplifying Catholic social doctrine for 40 years. Originally founded in 1985 as part of the National Pastoral Life Center in New York, NACSAM has grown to be the professional membership organization for individuals working in social action ministry. Throughout the organization's tenure, its mission is steadfast: providing professional support to members through education, formation, professional relationships, and management development.  

Governed by a board of directors consisting of diocesan directors from around the country, NACSAM is entering into a new era of forming social action ministers with in-depth focus on the spiritual formation of members.  Social action ministers are committed to building up God's kingdom of justice, love and peace because we understand our baptismal call of discipleship. We understand that the work of charity and justice is challenging, but "we are workers, not master builders; ministers, not messiahs.  We are prophets of a future not our own," (Romero Prayer).
