Office of Vocations to Priesthood

During iGiveCatholic 2025, we hope to raise funds for a priestly library of books at St Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation in Thibodaux for the ongoing formation of our seminarians.  These funds would provide for the materials of the bookshelves, as well as the books.  Men in the community will mentor our seminarians living at the House of Formation as they build the bookshelves together.  Our goal for this project is $5K.

St Joseph the Worker currently houses 3 of our seminarians.

(1) The Office of Vocations to Priesthood, with the support of our bishop, is the chief promoter of vocational awareness for the priesthood in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.  The Office serves to build a culture of vocations within our church parishes, schools, and community.  The Office offers resources and opportunities for men to discern diocesan priesthood in our diocese.

(2) The Office processes all candidates for the priesthood for the Diocese and accompanies our seminarians throughout the various stages of their formation.

(3) The Office also operates the Saint Joseph the Worker Seminarian House of Formation.  This is a house of formation for our seminarians in the Propaedeutic Stage of their formation (their first year in priestly formation).  For more information on this house and the Propaedeutic Stage of seminarian formation, visit our Saint Joseph the Worker page.
