HELP SEND A YOUTH LEADER ON RETREAT

"He wants you - all of you - to be light to the world, as only young people can be light. It is time to let your light shine!"

On January 26, 1999 St. John Paul II spoke these words to the young people of St. Louis from the stage of the Kiel Center. Out of that papal visit the Office of Youth Ministry was born here in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Here we are, over twenty-five years later, continuing to carry out the mission of equipping youth leaders with the necessary tools, training, formation and events in order that all young people may hear the Gospel message and be empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our parishes and in our world.

With your help and the #iGiveCatholic campaign, the OYM is once again funding the St. John Paul II Scholarship Fund. The money in this fund will go directly into parish youth programs in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Each year we encourage our youth ministry leaders to attend an annual retreat; a time away with the Lord to become a reservoir from which their ministry will flow, as St. Bernard of Clairvaux would say. Will you help us fund scholarships for parishes and youth ministry leaders to attend an annual retreat?

In addition, these scholarships will help fund:

  • Retreat scholarships for the annual Youth Ministry Leader Retreat
  • Adult leader training
  • Resource materials and membership fees for various youth ministry and scouting programs
  • Participation in youth ministry certification programs
  • Event scholarship and more!
Will you join our endeavor to expand sustainable youth ministry in the Archdiocese of St. Louis through prayer and financial support?
