In 1972, Bishop Paul Tanner established Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish on 12 acres along Florida A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach. The church building was completed in late 1974 and a small rectory was built shortly thereafter. The original 73 families quickly multiplied. Our Lady Star of the Sea continues as a vital stewardship community with over 3,000 families.
