Our Lady of the Snows Youth Ministry

Hi.

I am Glaicy Morrison, the Youth Ministry Coordinator from Our Lady of the Snows Church. Our Parish wants to continue offering the opportunity and space for the teens to follow Jesus. We desire that all come to be inspired to grow in their faith as disciples of Jesus Christ and work to help transform our city and diocese into more of the Kingdom of God. We must work hard because teens who receive confirmation don’t usually return to church. It’s sad! In the last couple of years, we experienced a significant drop in attendance at our Youth Ministry. This year, we have about 45 teens preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our Parish are working together to create a sense of community for them. This year, we have already promoted three events. At every event, we see more teens joining the fun events. At the last event at Bowling, over 20 teens showed up. That’s a triumph for us already! Watching them having fun, smiling, and cheering for each other was priceless. We see that teens enjoy their social life the most, and it is an excellent venue to get to know each other honestly. Your support will continue to provide fun events for the youth in our parish and assist in sending them to Catholic events such as the Steubenville Conference.

We testify that teens who attended this Conference had an amazing experience with Jesus. They usually come back on fire, wanting to serve Jesus. And who wouldn’t like to see the next generations involved with our ministries and taking over the roles of looking after the needs of our church and community? It makes me smile to think about this. We want these teens to be role models for the next generation and take the space they belong to at Our Lady of the Snows Church!
