Our goal is to invite our Catholic community to give back in supporting OCS which has been such an integral part of generations in our area for over 165 years! In this process, we hope to receive funds from family and friends of Catholic education here at OCS (formerly AIC and Holy Ghost schools) to enrich our academics in grades PreK-12.

When you donate, what are you helping to do? These funds will decrease costs of field trips for our students. Field trips are so important in each of our student's learning experiences. Nothing is better than real-world/hands-on learning! Our goal for our IGIVECATHOLIC campaign is to be able to use the total of funds raised to cover a percentage of costs for the experience, transportation, and food for field trips to give parents a decreased amount.

Our rich history is deeply rooted in a tradition of Catholic education since 1856.  We give thanks to the Marianite Sisters of Holy Cross and the Holy Family Sisters who established Catholic education in Opelousas. Today, Opelousas Catholic School is the oldest teaching institution in the city of Opelousas and offers instruction within the entire community from preschool through grade 12 on one campus. It serves five owner church parishes, including Holy Ghost, St. Landry, Our Lady of Mercy, Our Lady Queen of Angels, and Immaculate Conception.

Who We Are

Opelousas Catholic School educates the WHOLE student ... mind, body and spirit! It is a preschool through grade 12 campus, combining Catholic faith and teachings with academic excellence through the dedicated and highly qualified faculty who care for the students. Modern technology enhances the students' education, all in an effort to prepare them to be productive citizens and future leaders. For the parents, there are various opportunities for involvement through academic, athletic, and co-curricular activities. The Catholic Schools of Opelousas Alumni Association encourages membership by graduates of Opelousas Catholic School and her parent schools, the Academy of the Immaculate Conception and Holy Ghost School. OCS serves the five owner parishes of Holy Ghost, St. Landry, Our Lady of Mercy, Our Lady Queen of Angels, and Immaculate Conception. WE ARE FAMILY at OCS!
