This special initiative has helped our parish do many things in years past such as upgrade our social hall AV system, fund necessary repairs to the exterior of our building, and begin the process to offer childcare opportunities in our parish.

New Classroom Bibles for Our Children & Youth

This Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024, we are partnering once again with the iGiveCatholic Campaign through the Diocese of Knoxville to address a vital need in our parish. This year, our focus is on replacing the well-loved but worn-out bibles used in our children’s and youth ministry programs.

Over the past several years, we’ve been blessed with tremendous growth in these programs! However, the classroom bibles, which have served generations of students, are now showing significant wear. Pages are torn, print is difficult to read, and the language isn’t age-appropriate for many of our students. To ensure the continued faith formation of our children and youth, we are seeking to provide new, updated bibles that are better suited to their needs and will serve our students for years to come.

We plan to purchase two types of bibles for our classrooms:

1. St. Mary’s Press Catholic Children’s Bible: With vibrant illustrations, full-color pages, large print, and language tailored for younger children, these will be perfect for our younger Faith Formation classes.
2. St. Mary’s Press Catholic Youth Bible (4th Edition): Geared toward adolescents, these bibles include engaging features such as fun facts, illustrations, and relatable content for our Youth Ministry students.

To meet the needs of all our students, we aim to purchase 200 bibles, in bulk to ensure a great deal, including Spanish editions for our ESL students and updated teacher resources to enhance their use. The total cost for this project is approximately $7,000. Your generous Giving Tuesday contributions will help offset these expenses, ensuring our parish budget can continue to support these programs' growth in additional programing and resources for our students.
