Our Lady of Prompt Succor (Golden Meadow)

Over the last several years of our #IGiveCatholic campaigns we as a parish have accomplished all of our goals.  When assessing the greatest need for our parish we arrived at a consensus of installing a generator for our rectory, office and church.  We took into consideration that our parish serves as a base for the National Guard and, therefore, serves as a major distribution center for food and supplies to the entire south Lafourche area.  We also took into consideration that our parish priest must return to the parish as soon as residents are allowed so that the Blessed Sacrament is not left alone.  The third consideration was our ability to gather as a parish family to celebrate Mass, something we all need as we deal with the challenges a natural disaster brings to so many.

When determining a monetary amount for our goal it quickly became clear the amount needed would far exceed our past campaigns. We were aware that this may well need to be a multi-year campaign with different components of the project being completed each year. Acknowledging that we do not know what blessings God has in store for us we had decided to share the total cost of the entire project which was around $50,000.00. Last year our #IGiveCatholic campaign was able to raise enough funds to cover the installation of the electrical components required to connect a generator. This year we hope to further reach our goal which we are approximately $42,000 short.
