Welcome to our 2025 iGiveCatholic funding campaign! This year, Our Lady of the Mountains wishes to replace the original roof of the John C.C. Mayo Mansion. Construction was finished on this building in 1912 and has served as the home of our Catholic School for 80 years.
Over the past 100 plus years that the terracotta tiles have protected the Mayo Mansion, they have worn from the expansion and contractions caused by weather, to the point that they have become dislodged and are no longer preventing water from entering our beautiful building. To replace the roof as it was would require specially made tiles and be in in the neighborhood of 1.3 million dollars. However, in stiving to be good stewards of resources, we are looking to use a high-quality metal roof that will have the appearance of barrel tile. This way, the project will cost a much more manageable $300,000.
We are hoping for partners to join with us on this important initiative. While a roof may not be the most glamorous cause, it is a foundational (well, a roof actually) piece in continuing both the evangelization and intellectual formation that takes place at Our Lady of the Mountains.
We would love for you to be part of this journey with us, regardless of the amount of donation you can afford. It is only with people like you supporting us that we can continue bringing hope, opportunity and the light of Christ to Eastern Kentucky.
We welcome you to explore our iGiveCatholic page to learn more about our mission and our campaign.
