Our Lady of the Mountains School

A nonprofit organization

In 1945, the Sisters of Divine Providence from Melbourne, Kentucky, established Our Lady of the Mountains School. The school was established in the beautiful and historic Mayo Mansion that was constructed by John C.C. Mayo, in 1912. This building continues to be among the most prominent in the city of Paintsville and a significant landmark in the history of the region.

Our Lady of the Mountains serves mostly non-Catholic families who are draw to the mission of educating their children in a strongly Christian environment that is not just a school, but a family. Each student is treated with Love and compassion that not only allows them to lean and grow, but to realize the God-given potential that each one of them has.

For many of the families, affording a private education is very difficult and the many of our students need financial assistance to be brought up in this environment. Thank you so much for your support of this beautiful mission that so greatly helps these children!
