Pontifical Mission Societies-The Society of St. Peter Apostle

A nonprofit organization

The goal of the Society of St. Peter has been to invite individuals to support the education of candidates for the Catholic priesthood  in the Developing World and to support the formation of men and women candidates for the Religious life in the Missions. In its first year, the Society of St. Peter Apostle sent help for some 2,700 seminarians in the Missions. Today, some 30,000 major seminarians, mostly in Africa and Asia, receive an annual subsidy of $700 per student.

All missionaries are convinced of the great need to “put themselves out of a job.”  This means they need to encourage local people to discover their vocations to the priesthood and religious life in order to lead their own Church. Many times, the only thing stopping this important step towards self-sufficiency is a lack of resources. The Society of St. Peter Apostle exists to support this vital work. With your help, we encourage not only the planting of the seeds of faith in the Gospel, but the education of residents of mission countries to care for their blossoming Church as it grows roots.

As donors, You have been incredibly generous over the years to the Society of St. Peter the Apostle. Would you consider assisting us in the effort of spreading the word about our great work for our young seminarians and novices? Please prayerfully consider making an extraordinary gift by sponsoring a Seminarian or novice at this time. One year of formation for these young men and women costs only $700. Could you ask 10 loved ones to sponsor a future priest or religious with a gift of $70 on Giving Tuesday?
