On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: To celebrate generosity and to give. It is an annual giving day to support your favorite nonprofit organizations. Please consider supporting our ministry! Without the generosity and support of our donors, we would not be able to provide the proper resources to our students. It is only through charity and financial support that we are able to provide fellowship and faith formation opportunities for our students. 

As we approach Advent, a season of watching, waiting, and longing for the Light who comes into the world, we at Raider Catholic are reflecting on the ways Christ continues to reveal Himself here on Texas Tech’s campus. Every day, students come to the John Saleh Catholic Student Center carrying questions, hopes, anxieties, and a desire for meaning. College is often a winding and uncertain path, and at times, even a dark one. Yet here, in this community, they encounter the Light of Christ. They find belonging, friendship, and a foundation of faith that can sustain them long after graduation.

This year, our Giving Tuesday theme is Light the Way. We believe that when you give, you are helping illuminate the path for our students. Your generosity becomes like the flame of the Easter candle passed from one person to another, never diminished, only multiplied. Just as light spreads quietly, beautifully, and steadily, your gift has a profound and lasting impact.

Our goal this Giving Tuesday is $65,000, which will directly support:

• providing a safe space for students to grow, study, and encounter Christ,

• student leadership formation,

• retreats and small groups, and spiritual development opportunties,

• daily access to the Sacraments and prayer,

• mentorship and guidance from our staff,

• and a welcoming home away from home where faith can take root and grow.

We invite you to fill this out and add your flame to our mission. If you’d like, you may write the name of a student to be prayed for this Advent in the “in honor of” section. We will display this in the form of a paper candle in our student center as a visible reminder of the prayers and generosity that help sustain this ministry, and as a sign to our students that they matter.
