Redemptorist St Gerard School originated in 1944 through the work of the Redemptorist priests.  We have traditionally served working class families of North Baton Rouge and are proud of our history of providing an exceptional educational experience built on a foundation of Christian faith, hope and love.  

We believe we are providing Hope Upon Hope to the underserved in our community.   Over 97% of our students are minority and come from economically and sometimes socially challenged backgrounds.  RSG is the only Catholic school in the 70805 zip code that offers a strong educational and faith-based opportunity to students in the area.

Because our families struggle financially, the Friends of Redemptorist St. Gerard raise funds to assist RSG with maintenance, student tuition, and capital improvements.   Our focus this year is on tuition assistance. 

With the switch made by the State of Louisiana from the Louisiana Scholarship Program to the LA GATOR tuition program, many students who previously received assistance were inadvertently left off.  These families were able to apply for grant assistance elsewhere,  but the funds provided only partially covered the cost of tuition.  Help is needed to cover the balance of the tuition due for the school to meet it's operational needs.

In the past, we have been very blessed with the support we have received, especially from alumni and Catholic partners across Baton Rouge, and we are extremely grateful!  Please prayerfully consider helping us this year.   Thank you!
