Respect Life Apostolate

A nonprofit organization

$1,400 raised by 9 donors

In 2009, Archbishop Emeritus Robert J. Carlson established the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (BTC) Fund at the 33rd Annual Respect Life Convention. He named the fund after Blessed (now Saint) Teresa of Calcutta because she selflessly devoted her life to helping others and proclaiming the dignity of every human life from conception through natural death.

The fund offers practical assistance to expectant parents and families in our Archdiocese with limited financial resources before, during, and after birth. It seeks to prevent these families from “slipping through the cracks” by offering them the help they need to achieve long-term health and stability.

The Respect Life Apostolate works closely with our Walking with Moms St. Louis ministry partners in identifying and assisting those who may qualify and benefit from the BTC Fund. In the last 16 years, grants have been used to meet a wide variety of needs, ranging from supplies for baby and mom to food, clothing, and household items to utility and rental assistance.

May God bless you for helping us tangibly support parents and families who choose life!

Below are examples of what your donation could provide:

  • $25- Can help a pregnant mom buy diapers, wipes, or other baby care items
  • $50 – Can assist new parents to buy food or formula
  • $100- Can help a postpartum mom pay her heating bill or buy a new car seat
  • $250- Can assist expectant parents with their rent payment or with buying a stroller or crib
