Forming the Next Generation of Young Virtuous Leaders in Christ

The ROMAN Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of Roman Robichaux, a remarkable young witness of our Catholic faith. Roman, though only 15 when he returned to the Lord, lived with a spiritual maturity far beyond his years. He embodied the virtues at the heart of our Christian identity—humility, temperance, fortitude, compassion, and deep devotion to God.

Roman cherished time with his family, especially on the water. His love for fishing earned him the name “Fisher of Men,” as he naturally drew others closer to Christ through his joy, kindness, and authentic faith. Roman’s life continues to inspire all who knew him and many who did not. He was, in every way, an extraordinary child of God.

Continuing Roman’s Mission: Inspiring Virtue in Young People

In partnership with the Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana, the Roman Robichaux Foundation launched the Roman Robichaux Virtue Award to uplift and celebrate young people who strive to live virtuous, faith-filled lives in their schools, parishes, families, and communities.

Each year, two students who emulate the virtues Roman lived so beautifully are selected:

• One student in Grades 1–7

• One student in Grades 8–12

Award recipients receive tuition assistance for Catholic education or religious formation support within their parish—helping ensure their growth in faith continues to flourish.

At a time when academic and athletic achievements often take center stage, this award proudly highlights something even more meaningful: students whose lives radiate Christ’s love.
