Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (LaPlata)

Thank you for visiting our #iGiveCatholic Giving Day page. The goal of this day is to rally our Catholic community in support of an important new ministry here at Sacred Heart. 

There has been an exponential increase in the need for temporary housing for at-risk populations in our area. Pregnant mothers, single moms with small children, and people being released from our hospital post-surgery that need some time to get back on their feet. Many of these homeless work full-time jobs and have cars. There is also an increased demand for rental and utility bill assistance. 

Father Scott has created a Social Concerns Team here at the parish who meet with those in need, properly vet them to verify genuine need, try to place them with local families and or in motel rooms, and provide them with resources for their spiritual needs as well.

Your gift to us will truly transform this ministry and further build up the body of Christ. Donations stay directly in our parish and are not taxed by the Archdiocese. No donation is too small. Consider forgoing lunch or forgoing that bottle of wine and donate the savings to this cause. Talk to your friends, family, and your employer and ask if they will match your donation.
